JP McGowan Appreciation Society: Extending from Days of Rail and Screen held at Easter 2002 at McGowan's birthplace, Terowie SA. To create events and develop awareness of Hollywood's First Australian: actor, director and all-round character of serials, westerns, adventures and railroad movies. Offering information, seminar inputs, film presentations. A film about J.P. McGowan has been proposed by the Adelaide Film Festival.
