Ian Henderson holds a doctorate in creative arts from the University of Wollongong, NSW. His major interest revolves around concepts of the sense of place in landscape, genre forms and human activity. Many implied stories grow from these themes. His paintings have been collected by a number of regional galleries and public institutions in Australia and overseas. He is represented in South Australia in the permanent collections of the History Trust of South Australia Migration Museum, Murray Bridge Regional Gallery, and the City of Port Adelaide and Enfield Council. He is currently working towards a major exhibition of his new work concerning his time in the Cotswolds, UK, that will take place at the fFYRE Gallery in Braidwood, New South Wales. His studio will be moved to Adelaide in 2019.
