Fuse Presents Brings Industry Opportunities to SA Musos

Fuse Presents is a new program slated for 2012-13 to help support and inspire South Australian musicians and industry representatives in the development of their business and craft.

Fuse Presents will host three major activities while Arts SA conducts an ongoing review on the future delivery of the 16-year-old FUSE Festival, ensuring that SA musos, bands and industry workers continue to have opportunities to engage with local, national and international music showcases and events.

“This program has been carefully designed to nurture South Australian bands and industry practitioners and encourage their creative development,” said Jeff Andary, Acting Executive Director of Arts SA.

Mr Andary said Arts SA is committed to supporting the State’s contemporary music industry to thrive and as part of that has extended financial support to MusicSA, Northern Sound System and Carclew for its Off the Couch program, for a further year.

BIGSOUND 2012 will kick off the Fuse Presents calendar in September. The national showcasing and networking opportunity to be held in Fortitude Valley, Queensland, will include performances by three South Australian bands; The Beards, Sincerely Grizzly and Traveler & Fortune.

In March 2013, four South Australian music managers or artist representatives will attend South X South West (SXSW) in Austin,Texas, as a mentoring exercise and to enable international brand development.

SXSW is one of the largest music festivals in theUS, with more than 2,000 performers playing in more than 90 venues. It has become renowned for being the most successful gathering for creative people and the companies they work with to develop their careers, share ideas and create lasting networks.

Details on how to apply to attend SXSW will be on the Fuse website www.fusefestival.com in October 2012.

Locally, Fuse Presents will bring a three-day master class to Adelaide in April 2013.

Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil will give participants the chance to develop their craft by having direct access to three international industry gurus:
